“existential photography”        ·        what?
this series is an exploration of unknown territories. places nestled in things all around us. we pass by them on our way to the kitchen. the closer you look, the more you find.

eventually you end up in a place that is no longer the “object” but a sovereign region. on the journey you are an astronaut, hurtling through chaos, unsettled and disrupted. suddenly, without warning, you arrive – only to discover you recognize the new place you’ve never been.
without the machine to penetrate space, these images cannot exist, though the territories always have and will. as with our own human existence, we find ourselves looking at unknown places which are nevertheless familiar. the meaning in our point of arrival only carries what we choose to give it.
